Ethan's 18 Month check-up

  • Well today Ethan had his 18 month check up. He's doing great, the doctor is impressed at how many 2 step commands he is doing. He is now 3 feet tall (aka 36inches) and has now moved up to the 100th % in his height(they say that if you double their height at age two that is their expected height, so at a year and a half Ethan is looking to be over 6 feet tall, he's going to tower above both me and danny! Our future basketball star!! ), he weighs 27 lbs and is in the 75th % for his weight. We also made sure with the doctor that it would be ok to use the childrens chewable tablets of benadryl, tylenol and pepto, for on the plane since they are so picky about liquids and that's an a-ok so we plan to give him some benadryl as we leave the house for the airport saturday to help him sleep through a good bit of the plane trip! Ethan is growing so fast now a-days he is wearing 18-24 month shorts/pants(althrough it's huge around his waist and he usually needs a belt) and is wearing 3T shirts (which most are perfect size!) Ethan just started saying Uh-Oh in the last few days it's quite cute to hear him because it's more of a "uh uh- oooooh" and i think it's his way of being goofy. He also has learned "so big!" which is when we ask him "how big is Ethan?" he throws his arms up in the air meaning "so big" and he thinks he's such a hot shot. He still doesn't say alot of words but understands just about everything you say to him, he will show you what your asking him in books and even knows his bedtime routine so he'll get his bath, get dressed and then he will drag us to the fridge to fill his sippy cup up and once we have done that he will drag us to his toothbrush and brush his teeth, then to his bed to make sure the stuffed animals and pillow is in order, grab his blanket and then run to the rocking chair and wait to be cuddled up. It's so weird and makes us so proud everytime he learns something new or sees things that are new. We are so thankful and so proud to have this angel in our lives and I know I wouldn't change anything in the world. We are so glad we can share with you all we are feeling and all our little man is doing. We love you guys and more pictures will come soon!

I hope you are having tons of fun on your trip! I can't wait to see picture of the little bean sprout!! I can't believe he is that big!! Just drill into his little mind, that I am his favorite non blood aunt, and I need some proceeds from his new life as a professional basketball star!
