California!

Well we got back from Cali about midnight Sunday morning, we were exhausted and glad to be home.Ethan did great on the planes he slept about 90% of the plane rides which made things quite relaxing! We had tons of fun and Ethan enjoyed all the commotion and 24/7 attention from grandma! First day(Sunday) we went to the San Diego Zoo. It was HUGE and we got through about 3/4 of it, Ethan loved the Giraffes and Zebras. They had plants from all around the world, it really was neat, made you feel as if you were in a whole different country! Monday we did our first day of Disney where Ethan discovered It's a small world, he LOVED it, so many things to see and the music, he was starting dancing and kicking excitedly. We enjoyed a lot of shops and went on Dumbo, along with the Carousal the waits for rides were LONG, many rides were 1-2 hour waits (over an hour just for splash mountain!) we also went and played in toon town where Ethan loved playing in all the cars they had all over. Tuesday Danny had his first day of his conference and so me and Barb were on our own, so we headed to California adventure, it was pretty cool, lots to see, later after Danny's meetings we met up and went on the big roller coaster which was awesome! It starts you off at a dead stop and then all the sudden shoots you straight ahead from 0 to like a gillion in about 2 seconds! we also took Ethan on the monsters inc ride which he seemed to enjoy and also to Bugs Life area which was all made for little kids, we went on a little train (the caterpillar from the movie) and Ethan enjoyed that, along with the lady bug ride (which is a mini version of teacups but your sitting in lady bugs instead of teacups) i think we were both a bit green after that, then we ate lunch did some more shopping and let Ethan play in the water area which he really enjoyed until he got a jet of water right in the face (one of those that the jets come out of the ground randomly and the kids chase it, well Ethan decided to get a close look just in time for it to go off!) On Wed while Danny was at his conference me and barb headed back to Disney where we took Ethan on more rides like the Pirates of the Caribbean, Mr toads wild ride, it's a small world, peter pan, Pinocchio He loved them all and we had to pry him away from Mr toads wild ride because he loved that one, he had a blast playing with the steering wheel. Late wed danny's conference had their customer appreciation night where they had a few cover bands and KISS so when danny arrived back he looked so cool all painted up like KISS and in his nifty top hat, ass you'll be seeing in pictures. Too cool! On Thursday Danny got out a bit early from his classes and joined us down to sea world, which was fun but the thought of 4 hours to go about 35 miles was crazy! Bumper to bumper traffic....made us appreciate little Thomasville! Ethan enjoyed the dolphin show where he really got into the clapping parts. I think he thought they were all clapping at him! We saw sharks, penguins, turtles, flamingos, seals and so on, Ethan loved any part that he could put his hands in the water (starfish and the manta ray tank) He had fun and we left there after letting him play in the toddler bounce room and in the sand area where he loved the little springy duck that bounced and rocked! We kept thinking every park needed a place like the bouncy room for him to play in cause it really helped him get the wiggles out without having to be leashed or hold someones hand! On Friday (our last day) we headed up to Hollywood, which took us about 3 hours to go another 35ish minutes. traffic, don't miss that!! We saw the Graumens Chinese Theater along with the Kodak theater. We walked down the Walk of fame and took a small tour around to paramount pictures and other famous areas around there, We saw the street that was used in ET, and back to the future (and many other movies I just can't remember them atm)We also saw Paris Hilton and i was within about 5 feet of her at one point. No other celebrities. We headed back and arrived back at the hotel by about 11 and then settled down and got packed and ready to leave the next morning! We had a blast and it went by fast but we were also very ready to be back to our small little town and no traffic!
